Dove ricordi
The on-going series Dove ricordi explores two of the fundamental elements that define the essence of the Sardinian landscape: water and stone. Developed in the spring of 2025 during a residency in the region, the project arises from a reflection on the primordial nature of this land — among the first to emerge in the Mediterranean — understood as a space where time accumulates in layers and shapes collective identity and memory. The sacred and archaic dimension of natural elements is explored here: it is not sought beyond reality, but recognised as something that reality carries within itself, in geological forms, in surfaces eroded by water, in rituals that are repeated and passed down. Matter is the place where the sacred manifests itself, layered over the long span of the elements. Photography thus becomes a form of listening, a pause before that which endures and that which filters through. The language proceeds indirectly — it does not show the sacred, but follows its traces, its residues. The image does not reveal, but evokes. Landscape, memory and gesture thus intertwine in a dialogue between matter and spirituality, between the continuity of tradition and contemporary forms of perception.     Some of the following works are held in the archive of the National Museum of Photography in Cinisello Balsamo, Milan, IT.
