AQUA
Facing the world, I sensed the pain
I receded
and at last, I understood:
The archaic forms must be recognised–
Relentless agents,
Defleshing and reducing,
Piece by piece, with effort
Day after day, with rigour
To return to live
as a form in the world
I receded
and at last, I understood:
The archaic forms must be recognised–
Relentless agents,
Defleshing and reducing,
Piece by piece, with effort
Day after day, with rigour
To return to live
as a form in the world
Aqua is a lyrical exploration, in which a series of close-up photographs of big waves evoke a dormant, irrational feeling, beyond time. Sometimes terrifying, sometimes peaceful, water is explored for its profound symbolic value. It is not just a physical element but it becomes a place for the soul, a reflection that awakens a broader awareness of being in the world, capable of acting as a bridge between the unconscious and the conscious. Its ceaseless movement becomes a metaphor and a reflection of a vertiginous inner dialogue, stemming from the need to move closer to the images of the unconscious, the eternal structures of the psyche, at the backbone of all experience. In November 2024 Aqua became a photobook by CESURA PUBLISH.
